Mission
LXC-2 is a private collective for senior practitioners. We work on Container Two: what you're building outside Container One, the day job. The brewery, the rental, the home-automation rig with a self-hosted LLM and Whisper backbone, the software you've been meaning to write. The work that's yours.
Ethos
- Generous critique. Feedback is offered as a gift. Critique aims at the work. We've all worked with peers who treated critique this way; the collective gives that back.
- House rules: what stays here stays here. Members' projects, conversations, and contacts stay private to the collective unless the originator says otherwise.
- Builders only. Participation is the only currency.
Three modes you'll find inside
Build. Code, AI tooling, alpha-testing each other's work, office hours, demos, the deep technical conversation on the things you're stuck on.
Business. Entity formation, tax, contracts, sales, ops. Members have done it; ask them.
On the Side. Moonlight projects, second acts, parallel paths. The brewery, the rental, the home-automation rig with a self-hosted LLM and Whisper backbone, the software you've been meaning to write. And a collective who can say "I know someone who's done that, want me to make the intro?"
The stack
The collective runs on a small homelab, two Linux machines on a desk somewhere, with offsite encrypted backups. You don't need to run one yourself to belong here. The home router has no inbound ports open; Cloudflare Zero Trust handles identity at the edge, using providers you already log into, with passkeys required. All chat is threaded, attributed, and retained as the collective's record.
If the host goes dark, warm standby keeps chat up automatically. Co-admin can promote within hours, and a full restore from offsite is a day's work. We've drilled this.
Members curious about the substrate get a tour at infra.lxc-2.net: a living architecture diagram, current component versions, the Terraform graph rendered from CI. Inspection rewarded.
Entry
By introduction. A current member writes us at entry@lxc-2.net with your name and a paragraph on why. We reply within a week.
If you don't know a member yet, write us anyway. We read everything.
